Rivals, Let’s Ride the Road to the Playoffs

Here we are, on the cusp of the second NFL season with NFL Rivals! Year 2 is going to be a massive one and we have a new mini-program to start us off right.
As with every season, it’s a long drive to the playoffs and chasing a spot in the Big Game and we’re just getting started for the 2024 season. That’s why we dubbed our new 2-week program the Road to the Playoffs!
Running from August 8 to the 22nd, the Road to the Playoffs (RTTP) will play a little differently than we’re used to seeing. There won’t be a program currency to chase nor a program store to purchase from, but the Power Pass will be back at the same price, same volume of rewards, and double the progression speed as normal. Also, each event will be a Legendary Hero event!
Our Longest Rewards Track Yet
During the 2 weeks of the RTTP program, you’ll be able to collect LE cards like normal from packs and events. However, after the conclusion of RTTP, a new rewards track will launch and feature several Legendary cards from the program for players to earn over the course of the entire NFL season.
These cards that players earn will have a PWR level commensurate with a Legendary card, but they will not be tradable. Anyone can earn these cards and progression in the RTTP track comes from playing in any event or league. At the end of the road will be a Mythical-level card based on the regular season MVP announced by the NFL in January, which we’ll drop in a finite quantity.
The team wanted to create a rewards system that both had meaningful impact and is available for all players to strive for over the course of the season. We hope you love this new challenge!
Time for Team Captains
We’re also releasing “Team Captain'' player cards, which are mid-tier Legendary cards that have a unique Synergy and can only be earned through crafting challenges, one per NFL team. The requirements will vary per Team Captain, but will consume team-specific players from both RTTP and programs from Year 1. Each crafting challenge will also have a global limit and will remain visible until all Team Captains have been claimed.
Each Captain card will feature a unique kind of Synergy: the Captain will boost all LE cards in the lineup from the same team. So, if a player has a Colts Captain card, all Colts cards in the lineup will be boosted.
The First Year 2 Players
There will be 32 new players in RTTP packs, one per NFL Team. Most of the Rare and Epic player cards will be players who may have not had a Year 1 card but are under contract with a team and will likely make the team lineup after training camp. The PWR of the player cards will be based on where that player’s team ended in the standings for the 2023 NFL season. Teams like the Ravens, 49ers, and Lions will have Legendary cards while teams like the Cardinals, Patriots, or Panthers will have Rare cards.
These new RTP players will be the first cards with the new card layout and the new player PWR rarity bands. Additionally, each player card will also have a season-long scenario based on how that player’s team plays during the season. If a team makes the playoffs, the card will receive a PWR boost based on its previous odds of qualifying, meaning that teams who are heavy favorites would receive a lower PWR boost than underdogs who defy the odds.
Base players will remain as they are now in separate base player packs. We will continue to offer our weekly programs as LE drops in these packs, like Gridiron Standouts and new one starting next week.
